The Secret Circle - Episode 10-“Darkness” Preview

The show will be back on January 5, 2012 after it’s hiatus. Episode 9- Balcoin was a cliffhanger on what’s more to offer by this exciting show. The energy obviously was building up each episode. There were tiny yet seductive revelations on our characters making us look forward to its return next year though I must admit it would be a long wait.

    Things to watch out for:

    1. How is Cassie and Adam be meant for each other like what the later’s father keep saying that their families were written in the stars? If this is true how come he and Emilia (Cassie’s mother) did not end up together? Why is Cassie attracted to Jake (Nick’s brother)?

    2. What will happen to Jane after Charles and Dawn put a memory erasing spell on her?

    3. Where are the other crystals?

    4. Where are the other Book of Shadows? Each one is unique which means a diverse collection or source of info.

    5. How will Cassie handle the ancient dark magic she inherited from her father, the Balcoin/Blackwell lineage?

    6. Who is the other Balcoin/Blackwell child in the circle aside from Cassie as mentioned by the leader of the witch hunters?

    7. Who are the other elders and family members of the other characters that were not presented yet like Melissa’s parent?

    8. What will Jake bring on his return to Chance Harbor? What would happen to what he and Cassie felt for each other?

    9. On the preview Faye was highly emotional on something. Is she going to have a new love interest? There’s a guy on the video talking to her.

    10. Who will be the additional characters on Episode 10 and who will say goodbye to the show?

This is a must see show and I can’t wait for January 5th. Also I should mention the soundtracks are good. They got beautiful selection of songs per episode. I’m so digging this with my friends and family members. LOL!

    EMERALD

It was almost the end of May but not yet late to feature the birthstone for this month which also happened to be my birth month. :)

I have been wanting to own a polished emerald but the raw kind will do. I got friends who help me find stones and crystals which I can purchase in a lower price. It is really a challenge for I have a very high taste and this stone being amongst the expensive kind can truly rival a diamond in value. Hopefully I can get a nice piece of emerald this year.

For those of you who follow my blog you may have the idea that I collect stones and this is one of those I definitely have to include in my collection. I have another green stone which I have had an interesting experience with but I will feature it next time.

Anyway below are some information I got from one of my favorite websites about crystals and gems.

    Read on and enjoy!…

    General Gemstone Details
Emerald derives it’s glorious green color from the presence of chromium and vanadium. Emeralds are rarely flawless, therefore stones are often enhanced by oiling them to hide the imperfects. As well, the step cut (or emerald cut) is used to maximize the stone.

Ancient mythology teaches us that the emerald was associated with the Mercury, who was known to be the messengers of the gods, and of travel. It thus makes perfect sense that the emerald is commonly referred to as the Travelers Protection Stone.

A lesser known “odd” fact of the emerald is that when subjected to heat, it will actually sweat or expel water. Ancient writings speak of this extraordinary phenomenon.

    Scientific Properties:
Mohs Hardness of 7 to 8 with a hexagonal crystal structure.

Chemically, it is a beryllium-aluminum silicate whose color is due to small quantities of chromium compounds. The emerald was highly esteemed in antiquity; the stones were used for ornaments in early Egypt where some of the first emeralds were mined.

The proper name for the emerald is beryl, but there are different colors of beryl. Emerald Green is the color as well as the stone. When blue is added to the green, the beryl is known as Aquamarine. Pink beryl is morganite, yellow beryl is golden beryl, yellow-green beryl is heliodor. There is also a red beryl, but it is quite rare.

An emerald of the right shade of green can be more valuable than a diamond.  The finest emeralds are found in South America in Colombia, where they have been mined for over 400 years. The gem was a favorite in pre-Columbian Mexico and Peru, where it was cut in intricate designs. The treasure taken back to Spain by early explorers included emeralds.

Good emeralds are the most highly valued of gem stones. India, Zimbabwe, and Australia are minor sources of the natural stones. Synthetic emeralds are also manufactured in Germany, France, and the United States. The Oriental emerald, a different gem, is the transparent green variety of corundum.

    Mystical Properties:
Emerald is a stone of love and romance. It brings and enhances joy, cleansing, clairvoyance, memory, and faith. It also benefits intuition and communication, and promotes truthfulness. Emerald is associated with the heart chakra.

The emerald is the sacred stone of the goddess Venus. It was thought to preserve love. The emerald has long been the symbol of hope. It is considered by many to be the stone of prophecy. For some the emerald acts as a tranquilizer for a troubled mind. The emerald is said to bring the wearer reason and wisdom. The strongest time for the powers of the emerald is said to be spring.

Lucky for love, give your lover an emerald to stay faithful.

In several cultures the emerald was the symbol for fertilizing rain. In the Christian faith it is the symbol of faith and hope.

    Healing Properties:
Emeralds are known to heal both the physical heart as well as emotional love. They can help backaches when worn on the index finder of the left hand of a healer.  A healer may use a ring while the patient lies on his stomach, the healer holding the ring about two inches above the backbone and create small circles, slowly up and down the spine.

A powerful high energy stone, the emerald strengthens the eyes, heart, immune and nervous systems.

The power of the Emerald is highest at the full moon. Some cultures thought the emerald would heal any disease of the eye. The emerald would be placed in a container of water overnight and the water would be poured on the eyes the next day.

Emerald is a stone of great harmony, wisdom and love. Giving your lover an Emerald will bring the lover closer if the giver’s motives are pure love. The Emerald can be a bridge between 2 people. The Emerald vibrates with love.

    Magical Properties:
    Energy: Receptive
    Element: Earth
Powers: Love, money, mental powers, protection, exorcism, eyesight
    Deities: Diana/Artemis, Venus

Emerald is known as a tonic for the body as it aids in alignment of all the bodies. Extremely balancing for anyone seeking the truth. Emeralds are said to ward of negativity and to strengthen spiritual insight, and when used as a scrying stone can also foretell the future.

If you would like to bring love into your life, purchase an emerald, charge it with your magical need through visualization, perhaps by using a green candle as well. After the ritual wear or carry the stone somewhere near your heart, but do it in such a way that it can not be seen by others.

Emeralds have been used in spells and rituals for business to promote sales and increase public awareness of the firm.  For best results for any magic use, as told and recorded by old magicians, the emerald is best set in silver or copper. An emerald set in a sterling silver ring, for one example is definitely an eye catching piece of jewelry, but the stone married with the metal will also help sensitize the wearer to intuitive ideas and psychic aid, particularly in the field of creative arts.

    Zodiac:
    Planets: Venus
Traditional Birthstone for the Month of May.
Stone of Taurus, Gemini, Aries  to dream of an emerald indicates worldly success and goodness, a time of great happiness where you have much to look forward to.

     Chakra Classification:

Emerald is associated with the 4th, Heart Chakra, and the element of air, generates harmony in all aspects of your life.

    Hare Moon Myth

A Legend for today’s full moon called Hare Moon…

WHY THERE IS A HARE IN THE MOON.

MANY strange things happened long ago, and one of them was that a hare, a monkey, and a fox agreed to live together. They talked about their plan a long time. Then the hare said, “I promise to help the monkey and the fox.” The monkey declared, “I promise to help the fox and the hare.” The fox said, “I promise to help the hare and the monkey.” They shook bands, or rather shook paws. There was something else to which they agreed, and that was that they would kill no living creature.

The manito was much pleased when he heard of this plan, but he said to himself, “I should like to make sure that what I have heard is true, and that they are really gentle and kind to others as well as to themselves. I will go to the forest and see how they behave toward strangers.”

The manito appeared before the three animals, but they thought he was a hunter. “May I come into your lodge and rest?” he asked. “I am very weary.”

All three came toward him and gave him a welcome. “Come into our lodge,” they said. “We have agreed to help one another, so we will help one another to help you.”

“I have been hungry all day,” said the manito, “but I should rather have such a welcome than food.”

“But if you are hungry, you must have food,” declared the three animals. “If there were anything in our lodge that you would care to eat, you might have part of it or all of it, but there is nothing here that you would like.”

Then said the monkey, “I have a plan. I will go out into the forest and find you some food.”

When the monkey came back, he said, “I found a tree with some fruit on it. I climbed it and shook it, and here is the fruit. There was only a little of it, for fruit was scarce.”

“Will you not eat part of it yourself?” asked the manito.

“No,” answered the monkey. “I had rather see you eat it, for I think you are more hungry than I.”

The manito wished to know whether the fox and the hare would behave as unselfishly toward him, and he said, “My good friends, the fruit was indeed welcome, but I am still hungry.”

Then the fox said, “I will go out into the forest and see what I can find for you.”

When the fox came back, he said, “I shook the trees, but no more fruit fell. I could not climb the trees, for my paws are not made for climbing, but I searched on the ground, and at last I found some hominy that a traveler had left, and I have brought you that.”

The manito had soon eaten the hominy. He wished to know whether the hare would behave as kindly as the others, and before long he said, “My good friends, the hominy was indeed welcome, but I am still hungry.”

Then the hare said, “I will gladly go out into the forest and search for food.” He was gone a long time, but when be came back, he brought no food.

“I am very hungry,” said the manito.

“Stranger,” said the hare, “if you will build a fire beside the rock, I can give you some food.”

The manito built afire, and the hare said, “Now I will spring from the top of the rock upon the fire. I have heard that men eat flesh that is taken from the fire, and I will give you my own.”

The hare sprang from the rock, but the manito caught him in his hands before the flame could touch him, and said, “Dear, unselfish little hare, the monkey and the fox have welcomed me and searched the forest through to find me food, but you have done more, for you have given me yourself. I will take the gift, little hare, and I will carry you in my arms up to the moon, so that every one on the earth may see you and hear the tale of your kindness and unselfishness.”

The Indians can see a hare in the moon, and this is the story that they tell their children about it.
